Candid's experts have compiled the Catalog of Nonprofit Literature (CNL), a searchable resource of the literature of philanthropy, the foundation world, and the nonprofit sector—topics include:

  • fundraising
  • proposal development
  • charitable giving
  • nonprofit management
  • philanthropy

Types of materials:

  • books
  • journal articles
  • project reports

  • statistical analyses

The Catalog of Nonprofit Literature contains entries for materials collected by Candid's library since 1989, as well as selected works from other sources, such as EBSCO’s Nonprofit Resource Center. This resource contains more than 24,900 entries, including 17,000 abstracts.

Candid’s New York Learning Center library is free, open to the public, and we do not require an appointment. Most of the books, pamphlets, and articles cited in the Catalog of Nonprofit Literature are available for reference at the library, with a limited collection of circulating items as well.
