About

The Creative Work Fund awards grants of $15,000-$45,000 for artists to create new works through collaborations with nonprofit organizations of all kinds. It is available to artists of all disciplines and nonprofits in the 11-county greater San Francisco Bay Area only.

In each application, an artist and a nonprofit apply as a team, describing their idea and why they want to work together. Steps to apply include registering on the Creative Work Fund website, preparing and submitting a letter of inquiry by January 22, 2021, and –if invited –submitting a full proposal in June 2021. As these grants are competitive, applicants are wise to learn about the program’s purpose, tips for presenting a strong letter of inquiry, and appropriate timing for their projects.
